Channel storage (Schaefer orbiter system)
The highest density system of all is the channel storage, where a depth of up to 40 pallets per channel can be realised.
Channel systems achieve the highest density in storage along with very fast throughput, thus optimising the storage and retrieval process to the full. With upto 40 pallets deep and a shuttle travelling at 1.5 m/s, the Schaefer Orbiter is unrivalled in speed and efficiency.
SPIMA have succesfully installed and still maintain 2 such systems, one at the main Logistics center of C.A.Papaellinas and one in the new Medochemie distribution center in Limassol.
